The Salazar store was re-built in 1947 after a devastating fire on February 27, 1947.
The Owners increased the size of the store and added offices, living rooms, and apartments. The second floor had 36 rooms and 16 baths. Cost of the new building was estimated at $40,000. Archie Salazar son of Owner Delfino Salazar operated the store. Picture from Eric Chavez.

my name is Meloh Salazar from the Philippines,my parents told us that our roots from San.Luis Sto.Tomas Batangas in the Philippines.This might be a coincident beacause they say that Salazar clan from San Luis mostly resides in the USA during the 1940's.Is there any connection with that san luis store with the Salazar's from the Philippines particularly the SALAZARS of San Luis Sto Tomas Batangas?just want to know thanks.
